Literature Text
A woman is made of warmth to her core
You have something I could die for
other than myself
I play it cool, but really...
I'd rest in peace here, now, just knowing I made you smile
I'm writing a song for you,
but there are too many words to remember
I'm afraid to go this far, as I'm sure you are
It's not something I can hold for long:
my breath under your warm flood
Tell me, show me what you might deny
It's better to regret, than to retract
We have nothing to hide
Well, if I've nothing to lose,
I have a few things to tell you...
In a desert, I'd give my last drop of water
just to wash your feet
Were my car to die tomorrow,
I'd walk the miles to your place
or any end of the earth where you might be
What you give me exceeds want, need, words, or reason
You laid my deathwish to rest,
but now death has no threat
because if nothing more happens before I go,
I'll know that you're real, that you're here
No matter what, even if you don't feel the same,
I'd give you everything
All I could ever ask of you
is your faith, your truth, and your presence
When I hear your words, all of mine disappear
The words in every song I hear change in your light
Each sweet smell reminds me of yours
There's a boy who I thought was dead
who is now awake from your kiss
There's a broken old man who I know is dead
because you've soothed him with your gentle gesture
When I'm with you,
every good trait steps forward
all weakness steps back
except my weakness for you
Every plan we have is the same
Where you lead, I wouldn't hesitate to follow
Anything you want to know of me,
ask and I'll answer
I want to know everything about you
but even if you tell me nothing more,
I already know enough to be sure:
to my core, I am yours
You have something I could die for
other than myself
I play it cool, but really...
I'd rest in peace here, now, just knowing I made you smile

The chilly December morning dawned bright and silent. A girl, about 14 years old, awoke to a shaft of dusty sunlight filtering through a rip in the sheet that hung over her window.
A black, golden-eyed dog padded across the room towards the girl, who was still rubbing the sleep from her eyes. The dog, actually a wolf, stepped onto an old mattress that was dumped in the middle of the room. The girl smiled and began to heave off the layers of blankets that covered her body. Her smile was like a purple Violet, its face turned toward the sun. Like a lone bird singing a sweet, quiet melody at dusk. And also a smile that consisted of warm mem

a dead moth litters the sidewalk,
dried in the sun like old paper,
its wings tattered like wintered leaves
shredded by razor winds
I lift it carefully to lay it in
a shady place, hidden from careless feet,
where it could bleed into the earth in peace
given time and a good rain
but its lightness startles me, its amazing
intactness, petrified stiffly into a
shell of itself, its beauty all that remains
like the death mask of an ancient queen
sand-colored, only the dark spots
still soft like moist brown eyes
mourning the breezes that will lift
its wings no more

A Corpse a Bride and a Funeral
In satin cream, from head to toe,
Veil and lace disturb the peace,
Of soft fine curves.
No one notices (or they don't care),
Seeing her face doesn't make her there.
She's not there,
Not a soul knows,
This room is full of ice cold bone.
So sweet and delicately limp; lifeless,
But alive with ember eyes,
Blood stained hands from yesterday's sins,
Thus creating her demise.
In the night they say "don't listen,"
For you cannot recall what has become,
Of the woman we once loved.
The woman we once loved,
Tattered and torn with trickery up clear sleeves,
When you sleep she finds you and troubles you in your dreams.
You spoke to the n
